BIG DOG BEHAVIOUR

Training powerful breeds with purpose and structure 🐾

INITIAL BEHAVIOUR ASSESSMENT

Price: $200 – $800
(Depending on risk level, reactivity, aggression, severity and location)

Every dog begins with a 1.5-hour, in-depth behaviour assessment designed to uncover exactly why the behaviour exists and what needs to change.

During the Assessment I Evaluate:

Current behaviour patterns

How they react, what triggers them and where their behaviour begins and ends.

Body language and communication

Signals of stress, fear, uncertainty, overstimulation and dominance owners often miss.

Emotional state and confidence

Whether behaviours come from fear, excitement, frustration, anxiety, lack of structure or overdrive.

Reactivity levels

Barking, lunging, whining, staring, fixation, freezing, pulling or avoidance.

Aggression risk

I carefully observe any signs of escalation suchHard stares, forward pressure, guarding, unpredictability and escalation.

Environmental behaviour

How the dog behaves inside the home versus outdoors. Many dogs change completely when the world becomes bigger.

Handler relationship

How your dog responds to you, your timing, your leadership, your confidence level and how much they rely on or override you.

Nervous system response

Some dogs shut down, some explode outward, some overthink. I identify how their nervous system reacts so I know exactly how to build confidence and control.

Social behaviour

If needed, I use my trained decoy dogs to test safe levels of exposure for reactivity, fear aggression or confidence building.
